I have to make tests on PIX 501 firewall. What I want to do is to find any holes and vulnerabilities and to hack into LAN it is protecting. I have to configure it and make a configuration that will be used for tests. Does anybody have any idea?
Thanks!

The Cisco PIX is the industry standard in firewalling - what makes you think that you can just hack into it? It's not MS Windows.
Known vulnerabilities in the specific PIX OS images are well documented on cisco.com and usually patched immediately after they become common knowledge.
What exactly is your objective?

My professor gave me PIX 501 and told me to make a LAN by my choice and try to find any vulnerabilities and holes in PIX and how can they be used. So, I read Security Advisories at cisco.com but I have no idea how can that be used. The version on my PIX is 6.1
