The old Pixes use a Pix Device Manager (PDM) GUI which can be launched from a browser. It depends on you having the right (old) version of Java for compatibility.
If you can login via console or ssh and ascertain what version of PDM you have, you can then refer to this field notice to determine what Java version you'd need.
