Cisco PIX FO IOS update

I have a primary and a failover PIX 515 firewall running version 6.2. Upgrading the primary to 6.3(3)is straight forward, but I'm a little concerned about the Failover unit. Do I need a different IOS or use the same IOS as the primary and it will know that it is only a failover?

Sorry, I'm just a little confused with this. If anyone could help me with, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

A failover pair has to be running the exact same code. Because of this, you will have a small outage during the upgrade process unfortunately (something that is being worked on for future releases).

The upgrade process for a failover pair is detailed here:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/110/upgrade.shtml#failover

I guess my biggest concern is getting the following message after I upgrade the FO unit:

"Your PIX currently does not have failover activated."

I need to find some documentation that explains how I can make or force a PIX to become a FO.

Thanks for help.
