What are my options for password recovery of the admin around that doesn't want to be sync'ed to AD?

Hi,

If you have access to the box via another admin account, use this procedure: https://community.cisco.com/t5/other-security-subjects/reset-admin-password-on-firepower-ftd/td-p/5160750
