Cisco Sha256 encryption

Could you pls let me know which iOS releases do support for SHA256 encryption for user & enable credentials?

It was introduced in IOS versions 15.3(3)M/15.3(3)S for the username and 15.3(3)M3/15.5(1)S for the enable. And it is hashing and not encryption, a big difference from a cryptographic view.
