Hi, everyone
I work in a company as a developer where we just decided to use Cisco ASAv as firewall. It will take i guess two or more weeks(i am not sure as I don't see this part of company) for deployment of ASAv but I am assigned task of developing scripts to talk to ASAv for internal purposes. I saw two documents(links attached) but they seem to be missing complete information and recommend ASA's UI API documentation. For now, I don't have access to UI doc and I want to develop scripts before deployment. Is there complete API documentation online. E.g I want to block IP on ASA,, what would be the path? Will I use "/api/access"? Plus, is there sample responses for every REST API endpoint available?

Unfortunately the complete documentation is on the ASA itself, I went through the same thing a while ago and haven't found anything online that offers anything near the API documentation that is on the device. Fortunately we have a dev ASA handy that I can always reference.
That being said the on-board API documentation is very comprehensive. With samples and you can even run queries from the GUI.

OK. Is there something like demo trial of ASAv?

The ASAv will have all of the features enabled when you deploy it without a license. However, your traffic is going to be rate-limited to 100 kbps.

The ASAv can be downloaded at the following link:
https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286119613/type
If your cisco.com account does not have the permissions to download it, you will need to reach out to you local Cisco account team and they should be able to publish the image with the desired version for you.

It requires service contract. I guess we can't download ASAv for trial period with or without free Cisco account, even with limitations. Correct?

That is correct, but as I mentioned, your local Cisco team or Cisco reseller can help you get this sorted out.
