the CN= of AD accounts are in format of "lastname, firstname". the MC does not accept that format, in particular the comma. If this an issue with 2000 AD or just the comma?
The CSAMC and AD are compatible with each other. How are you viewing the database of AD? If you have exported the database to a csv file then it will have a comma between every value but this has nothing to do for compatibility.
