Cusotmer has an ASA 5520 running 7.2(1) with a CSC-SSM-20 module. The updates for the CSC module is set for 02:55 (note, this is am, not pm). In the syslogs, we are seeing the updates occur around this time as expected, but it also happened today in the middle of the afternoon. When this occurs, we lose internet for a couple of minutes. But, we have it configured to allow traffic to pass when the module is down, so I'm not sure why we lose internet connectivity during a reload of the module. No changes were made to the box to our knowledge and we've looked through all of the syslogs for anything related to updates. All we see are these 3 entries:
02:55:22: %ASA-1-505013: ASA-SSM-CSC-20 Module in slot 1, application reloading "CSC SSM", version "6.1 (Build#1519)" CSC SSM scan services are reloading because of a pattern file or configuration update
02:56:23: %ASA-1-505013: ASA-SSM-CSC-20 Module in slot 1, application reloading "CSC SSM", version "6.1 (Build#1519)" CSC SSM scan services are reloading because of a pattern file or configuration update
13:51:35: %ASA-1-505013: ASA-SSM-CSC-20 Module in slot 1, application reloading "CSC SSM", version "6.1 (Build#1519)" CSC SSM scan services are reloading because of a pattern file or configuration update
Any thoughts as to why the update would occur at 1:51pm, and why we would lose internet connectivity during this time?
Thanks,
Kevin
