i am on the sourfire/firepower system console
i need to run SUDo or Su root
both prompt for a password.
its none of the ones i have set.i donr recall ever setting one
when i go to the gui, it wont let me create a reserved account ie root
i need this password to run commands to migrate away from V6.0.0.1-26 to v 6.1.0
i have an open Sev 3 TAC ticket
so far TAC has not been helpful on the upgrade issue or password
anyone else know what the issue is

sudo should be able to use the same password as the admin user.

With 6.0.0.1-29 I lost root access. no password works
I built a new 6.1 VM I had root accesson the console.
when I went to the GUI, it first asked me to change the admin password
I did, then I went to the console, and WHAM, no more root access. No password worked including the new admin password that was set only a few seconds earlier.
I asked my cisco Cisco SE to look for a BUG ID

Hi , this is not correct see what happen when use the same password , show the next error:
FPMurcia(local-mgmt)# pmon stop
We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things:
#1) Respect the privacy of others.
#2) Think before you type.
#3) With great power comes great responsibility.
Password:
Sorry, user admin is not allowed to execute '/usr/bin/pkill -SIGUSR1 pmon' as ro

Hello Walter,
If you havent set any specific password, then it would be the default password same as admin user. Starting from 6.0 the default credentials are different from previous 5.4 versions.
Login to the firepower CLI and once you login as admin user , use the following commands to put the default root password.
admin@123$ sudo su -
Put the default password and it will help you in switching to the root account.
Regards
Jetsy

It is very weird, a fpr-1010 with factory-reset performen from rommon, will get you to this endless loop:
firepower-1010 login: admin
Password:
Successful login attempts for user 'admin' : 1

Password:
Sorry, user admin is not allowed to execute '/isan/bin/get_my_user_info.sh' as root on firepower-1010.
System is coming up... Please wait...
Password:
Sorry, try again.
what to do ??
