FDM: Restore backup from 1010 onto 2120?

Hi,

We have a FPR1010 locally managed with FDM.

I need to replace the 1010 with a 2120.

I'd like to create a backup of the 1010 and restore it onto the 2120.

Anyone know if this is possible before I waste time trying and failing?

I think the answer is no but there is no harm in asking the opinion of others :)

Hi,
No, the FTD hardware must be the same. However that was version 6.3, I haven't seen anything for newer versions though.

Like @Rob Ingram said, short answer is no.

You might consider using CDO however. With it, you can share objects and rules across multiple firewalls. If you haven't purchased the new firewall yet, you should be eligible to a current deal offering a free CDO 1 year subscription. You could get a trial subscription for the 1010.
