I have a Cisco 3825 router with Cisco IOS Software, 3800 Software (C3825-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 15.1(4)M8,
RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)

I am running a few servers: Database Server, 2 web servers, mail server, DNS Server. All boxes have windows server 2008 R2 installed and I am using the built in windows firewall.

I am concerned about security. Does this 3800 software shown above provide Firewall capabilities and should that also be used even though I am using the Windows firewal on each box?

OR

Should an ASA55010 or something be used instead of the routers firewall features?

Any help would be appreciated.

The IOS zone-based firewall could be used on your router.

It canbe challenging to setup from scratch but if you use the Cisco Configuration Professional (CCP) GUI, it's not too dificult.
