Hi all,
I'm going to upgrade a customer's HA pair of FMC2500 from 6.2.2.1 to 6.3.0.2.
The release notes state the following:-
#################################################
Preinstallation Hotfix for MC1000, 2500, and 4500 (Required)
Deployments: Firepower Management Center models MC1000, 2500, and 4500
Upgrading from: Version 6.2.x
Directly to: Version 6.3+
You must apply a preinstallation hotfix before you upgrade an MC1000, MC2500, or MC4500 from Version 6.2.x to Version 6.3+. This hotfix updates the firmware for the RAID controller. Without the hotfix, affected upgraded FMCs running Version 6.3+ can experience performance issues. Do not apply the hotfix to any other appliance, including new or reimaged Version 6.3+ FMCs.
The hotfix is available on the Cisco Support & Download site, in the same location as the upgrade and installation packages for your currentversion. Use the regular upgrade page (System > Updates) to apply the hotfix.
6.3+ | — | Contact Cisco TAC if you upgraded to 6.3+ without the hotfix. |
6.2.3.x | Hotfix AJ | Sourcefire_3D_Defense_Center_S3_Hotfix_AJ-6.2.3.999-5.sh.REL.tar |
6.2.2.x | Hotfix BY | Sourcefire_3D_Defense_Center_S3_Hotfix_BY-6.2.2.999-1.sh.REL.tar |
6.2.1 | — | Upgrade to Version 6.2.3 and apply Hotfix AJ. |
6.2.0.x | Hotfix CD | Sourcefire_3D_Defense_Center_S3_Hotfix_CD-6.2.0.999-1.sh |
However, when I look at the hotfixes for 6.2.2 on the Cisco software downloads page, I see two options but they say the following:-
Firepower Management Center 6.2.2 Upgrade
Use to upgrade from 6.2.0.x to 6.2.2 ONLY.
Firepower Management Center 6.2.2 Upgrade
Use to upgrade from 6.2.1 to 6.2.2 ONLY. Do not untar.
I'm not upgrading from an older version *TO* 6.2.2. I want to upgrade *FROM* 6.2.2.1 to 6.3!!
The Firepower Hotfix Release Notes don't even mention "Hotfix BY" so I'm not sure what to do. I'll raise a TAC case to ask but I figured some of you good people must have crossed this hurdle already...?
Cheers!
Matt.
