I have a Firepower 1140, locally managed, not connected to FMC. It came from cisco with version 7.0.1. It was updated to 7.2.4 by mistake and we reverted the upgrade after it successfully upgraded. Then we tried to update it to version 7.0.5. The upgrade failed and according to the CLI it reverted back to 7.0.1, but I have no GUI. CLI works fine except for when I log in, it shows "System is coming up... Please wait..." about 10 times before I can start typing commands. It does the same when I go into FXOS.
pmtool status | grep -i gui shows the following:
mysquld (system,gui,mysql) - Running 7592
idhttpsd (system,gui) - Waiting
pmtool restartbyid idhttpsd did not help
None of the folders in my system are full or anywhere near full
in /ngfw/var/log/sf/Cisco_FTD_SSP_FP1K_Upgrade-7.0.5.1690404665.rollback there is a status.log that has the following:
ui: Upgrade in progress: (14% done.31 mins to reboot). Updating Operating System... (300_os/100_install_Fire_Linux_OS_aquila_ssp.sh (in background: 200_pre/600_ftd_onbox_data_export.sh 300_os/001_verify_bundle.sh))
ui:__[] Fatal error: Upgrade Failed: Failure unpacking and verifying FXOS bundle from the script install_fw_InfraPack.pl. error 1. Returning to previous version (7.0.1)...
I did do a readiness check after uploading the file to FTD and it passed.
The firepower seems to be actually working and passing traffic, but I just cannot get into the GUI. Please help.

I agree with @marce1000 - this is definitely a case where TAC is your only option.

- These bug reports seem similar : https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch?pf=prdNm&kw=Failure%20unpacking%20and%20verifying%20FXOS%20bundle%20from%20the%20script&bt=custV&sb=anfr
You will probably have to engage Cisco (= contact TAC)
