Hi,

does anyone know the latest on FTD6.1 release date, back in February it was confirmed that it will be released in June? any update on this? and will it have feature parity with both FP & ASA codes?

2nd try, any committed date for this release, I was expecting the announcement during CLUS, but nothing yet,

I'm also very interested for a release date on this.  I check every week now since it was supposed to be released this summer.

The on-box mgmt is huge, for small deployments, POVs, and labs.    I really want to see how the features of that compare to full FireSight.

Can anyone at Cisco provide any type of timeframe?

I agree, but from what I heard, 6.1 will only have basic UI, to create basic policies (not sure what that means) and monitoring, so I guess you would still need FPMC (the new fancy name for firesight).

what I am looking for is clustering and VPN, which are not yet supported in 6.0.1

I hope someone from Cisco could confirm this, or at least provide a link to the release notes to know what to exactly expect in 6.1

I can see 6.1 on CCW with NPH, but could not find any information on  CCO, is this really coming out soon? or will it take another 3 months to be released, we are loosing business for lack of features in 6.0.1

It should be released by the end of this month (August 2016).

FTD 6.1 was released today.

Indeed.

It includes the options for on-box management, site to site VPN and rate limiting (among other things):

Now if we can get that pesky remote access VPN... 🙂

I was really looking forward to remote access VPN/AnyConnect being baked into this release.

It's the only thing holding us back from ditching the dual image (ASA + FirePower) setup.

Does anyone have any kind of roadmap for this?

If you contact your local SE (Cisco or partner) you can get roadmap information on a non-disclosure basis.

Thanks for the update, but to be honest, I am a bit disappointed, on box management is only  supported on the ASA-5500X modules, and not the FP appliances, and again no clustering or device context (which were announced to be part of 6.1 when 6.0.1 was released)

still a great step forward

Agreed, I think Cisco folks overpromised a bit on the 6.1 code release.  Very much an improvement, excited to implement the rate-limiting policies though.
