Geolocation update returns an error: "Failed to install Geolocation Update. Please contact Sourcefire support."

An attempt to install a version of the Geolocation Database (GeoDB) that is already installed returns the following error:
 
Failed to install Geolocation Update. Please contact Sourcefire support.

This issue is fixed in Sourcefire software version 5.3. If you are experiencing this issue, please update the software version of your Sourcefire appliances to 5.3 or greater to resolve this issue.
