I've got a network full of 2924XL and 3524-PWR-XL switches, with a 3620 router facing the Internet. As I understand NAC Stage 2 so far, none of this stuff is supported. I've got to add a couple of switches anyway (with IP phone power), and wouldn't mind replacing the router, but so far have been unable to find out exactly what equipment and software releases ARE supported, other than high-end chassis systems. Can anyone give me guidance, or is it too early in the NAC game, or are low-end customers not destined to be players in this?

Hey there -
Time will tell exactly which switches will support NAC phase 2, but the intention is to have basic NAC L2/L3 functionality in the newer stackable switches (2950s, 3560s, 3750s).
In all honesty, your account team has access to this information to work with you to design this any changes to your network to support NAC.
Please let us know if you cannot reach them and we will try to help further.
thanks!

Would appreciate any help you can give me. I'm about to order a new switch, was planning on a 3550-PWR-XL, but was hoping it would be NAC-capable. Probably should take this discussion offline to tell you about my somewhat unique situation, I guess. (mfa@crec.ifas.ufl.edu, 863-956-5891).

I'll try to contact you tomorrow, but I would recommend the 3560 in lieu of the 3550. The 3560 was more recently introduced and will have a longer life span than the 3550.
As far as NAC is concerned, we will likely see the same features (NAC at L2 and L3) supported in both switch platforms.
Hope this helps with your decision.
thanks

Thanks -- is EMI required for NAC? Sounds like PVLAN might be useful in that app.
