We had a similar problem. We were advised that this message corresponds to a failed attempt to change the storage location of the syslog messages. If you have been trying to modify the path and met with no sucess, then these messages are easily explained. One of the reasons that could result in failed attemts to change path (which we were facing) is the presence of several entries with local7.none.

other option that you can check is the SNMP setting both router and your ciscoworks server. Your router should configured the logging and SNMP server with the right R/W community string

I've had a similar (maybe the same) problem many moons ago. I recall this being something to do with the location of
# Added for Cisco Syslog Analyzer (begin)
local7.info /var/log/syslog_info
# Added for Cisco Syslog Analyzer (end)
in /etc/syslog.conf. I believe I got around this by moving these lines from the bottom of syslog.conf (where the RME install puts 'em) to the top.
Good luck

We have the same problem.
OS - Windows2000 Advances Server (SP4), CD One 5-th edition, RME-3.4
Problem appears right after the installation of RME.
When try to open any syslog report, then appears window with this message: "Invalid Syslog File Location".
