High System Memory Usage on Cisco Firepower 1140 FTD, Assistance Need

Hi,

I've been monitoring the situation for a while and noticed that about a week ago we received a notification:

Aug 28 11:38:37 _gateway %FTD-2-321006: message repeated 3 times: [System Memory usage reached 83%]

The system memory usage has now increased to 88%.

What should I do in this situation?
Would restarting the Cisco Firepower 1140 FTD help improve this percentage?
Is there a need to clear any cache memory somewhere?

I searched for a solution on Google but couldn't find an answer. Please help.

Best regards,
Kacper

First thing

Disable snmp and check of memory

Most of cases is from snmp high rate message

MHM

Thank you for the quick response.

I’ll try disabling SNMP today and will monitor the situation. It’s a bit unfortunate because we have Zabbix, and it’s connected to Cisco Firepower 1140 through SNMP.

Maybe I’ll restart the Cisco Firepower 1140 first, and if that doesn’t help, then I’ll disable SNMP.

Best regards,
Kacper
