how do i change the telnet and enable and vpn user password on a cisco asa 5510

Please guide with the commands - thanks

I know the current password, but for secruity reasons we are required to change the password every 6 months atleast

Hi Mujahid

Go into configuration mode and issue the

passwd command to change your Telnet password and the

enable password command to change an enable password, and then save your configuration.

Thanks- i have already done the above but (iam using putty to login using telnet) when it prompts for login and password, at the login it is accepting the old password and the prompt is ASA5510> and now if i enter en then i can enter with the new password

how do i change the password at the login prompt too.

Put the following command :

username password

This will change the login credentails.
