How do I upgrade PIX software to V6.3.3

New user, first time to upgrade. I have downloaded from Cisco two files that reside on my hard drive (C). The files are (pix633.bin) and (pdm-301.bin). I currently have 6.3.1. Do I need to upgrade both files, or will just the (pix633.bin) work. I see the instructions below, my questions are

where it states "to copy the firewall binary image to

the root directory of the TFTP server". What is the TFTP server? I have a PIX 501 connected to a WinXP box. No server, just the PIX linking two computers. When it states "copy TFTP flash", where is it expecting the file (pix633.bin) to be? Last question, "enter the remote host IP address", again no remote host Thanks in advance for your help.

Using the copy tftp flash Command to Upgrade the PIX

Following these directions to upgrade the PIX using the copy tftp flash command.

Copy the PIX Firewall binary image (pixnnn.bin) to the root directory of the TFTP server.

From the PIX prompt, issue the copy tftp flash command.

Enter the remote host IP address.

Enter the PIX binary filename (has the pixnnn.bin name format).

Type yes.

you need tftp server software. cisco used to provide one for windows.

you only need the pdm file if you use the pdm, the web based management tool.

Thanks for the reply. Is this ( tftp server software ) a charegable item? or do you know if it is included in the first three months maintenance included with the PIX. If it is chargeable? I probably (1) couldn't afford it (2) only one PIX with three computers probably don't need it. Therefore does anyone know what Cisco does in this case? I did call them a week ago when I found out about the new software, they provided me with a temporary P/W to download those two files. But in this case what do I ask for, I don't really know. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

TFTP is usually shareware. You can search on download.com for a version since the Cisco version is sometimes unstable and is not available anymore.

Thank you very much for the reply. I will search download.com now. I really appreciate the information.

TFTPD32 is a pretty good TFTP program...

Thank you very much for the reply. I will try to loocate TFTPD32 and give it a try.
