Hi,
Does any one know how long Cisco will continue to provide updates for the ASA 8.2.5 code. Because of the major differences the way NAT is done on the new code (from 8.3 and higher), we want to try and stay on this as long as possible. I can see that for the asa 55xx firewall versions they will be End-Of-Life/ End-of Sale (9/16/13) but cant find anything about the code. As the new firewalls run at a minimum 8.6, I assume that this earlier code will stop being updated soon. Does anyone have any further information on this or an idea when to expect this.
Thanks
Stephen

Hi,
I asked this question to Cisco engineers during one of the Webinar (about 3months back). As of that time, they do not have any plans to end/remove 8.2.x. I guess, the same thing follows for updates as well, as majority of ASAs still on this code.
Thx

Hi,
This is the latest EOL/EOS notice for the 8.0 software (To my understanding models 5505 - 5550)
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps6032/ps6094/ps6120/end_of_life_c51-682452.html
This is the latest EOL/EOS notice for the 8.1 software (To my understanding only the ASA5580 models)
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps6032/ps6094/ps6120/end_of_life_c51_640618.html
Looking at those dates I would presume that the 8.2 software will be supported for several years still.
Though as we can see on the forums here, there are still alot of people that are still running even PIX firewalls with 6.3
Judging by the software download section, the latest update to 8.2(5) software was done on 15th of March 2013
