Since its a 7XXX sourcefire appliance, one of ways to monitor the current throughput would be through use of dashboards which provide information is the connection summary dashboard and summary dashboard.

Go to the web interface of the sensor, on the main/default dashboard, right hand side, there will be an interface widget. This is arguably the easiest way to get the current interface and throughput stats on a series3 device.
