http preprocessor which direction should I care about

Hi Folks, 

Any feedback on the following idea appreciated. 

Thinking to create an IPS policy with no http pre processing outbound.

Then create an IPS policy with pre processing inbound. 

I'm thinking I don't care so much if my trusted servers/clients are hitting pre processing violations outbound, but i do want to know about ones inbound. 

Thoughts?

I also read someone saying if you don't host your own web servers onsite then http preprocessing can be switched off. 

Anyone have thoughts on this topic?
