IP Range Question

I'd like to block ranges like 73.*.*.* and also ip's like 81.72.*.*. I know that I can block 83.24.42.* with 83.24.42.0/24 but what is the correct format for the first two?

You can block like:

73.0.0.0/8

81.72.0.0/16
