I would like to learn these tools in my lab.

I have ASA 5506 and 5540.

What is the cheapest way to run IPS and IDS on one of the devices?

What do I need?

Are you a Cisco partner? If not, it can be challenging to learn this in a home lab as the products all require licenses. Partners (and Cisco staff) have access to lab licenses.
