Hi Shahid,

if the default username n password of cisco, doesnt work you can reset it by the commmand :

hw-module module password-reset

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/security/asa/asa82/command/reference/gh.html#wp1756348

Hope this helps

no command as Hw-module module password reset.

your link is not correst. if i click here no page appear .

Hi Shahid,

First you need to do , show module, lets say you have the IPS in slot 1, so the command would be:

hostname (config)# hw-module module 1 password-reset

Reset the password on module in slot 1? [confirm] y

The command is correct, please check there is a  "-" between password and reset.

Hi Shahid,

If you are using a software image that does not  support the password reset command then the only option seems to be,  re-imaging the module:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ips/6.1/configuration/guide/cli/cli_system_images.html#wp1230355

Hope this helps,
