Is it useless on stateful failover with OSPF running on PIX 6.3(1)

I have some need to run OSPF on PIX and also try to have stateful failover between both boxes. I found that for connection with static route or connected route, the stateful failover was working well. But with OSPF running, the takeover PIX have to re-establish neighbor and resync link state database. That made it take time(more than a minute for ospf reestablishment) and seem like stateful failover is useless. The standby PIX, doesn't duplicate the LSA database for readiness when failover occur. Am I right? Or any suggestion for this situation?

Jessada.

Hello Jessada,

What you are observing is correct, even if you configure stateful FO, routing information like neighbor state, LSA, routing table etc. will not be replicated. Please, refer to the following link -
