I am planning to use lan-based failover on PIX, but am wondering if it really works well or not. If anyone has the experience with this technology, please let me know how the implementation goes.
Thanks.

Hi,
I´m using stateful LAN-based failover with PIX 515E Failover bundels.
I have a couple of installations with this configuration and they all run well.
The LAN-based failover link is on a separete VLAN.
You have to use PIX 6.2x software.

Hi
Thank you very much. It makes me feel more comfortable now. However, I am wondering how you tested the failover situation if you don't mind letting me know.
Currently, I am planning to use two seperate switches connected to primary PIX and secondary PIX, repectively, and trunk this VLAN between these two switches for lan-based failover. Same for stateful failover link but in a different VLAN.
Thank you.
