I have a vendor who transfers large files from our site to theirs over the Internet and take up about 60% of the Internet line with peaks of 100%. Is there a way to control how much bandwith they can use in the PIX. I'm sure I could do this in the Internet router except it's leased by our ISP and we don't have direct control over it.
Thanks.

Hello Doug,
Are you running MS Exchange, if so, why don't you just set message limit on the exchange IMC (Internet Mail Connector).
I currently only allow my users to around 5 Meg for mail size and if anyone needs to tansfer larger size then we can lift the size limit for them but don't think you can do this on the PIX.
Hope this helps --

They are copying files straight from directory to directory. They started out doing it in the middle of the day until I saw the usage graphs and told them to only do it at night. Problem is we have people VPN throughout the night and it will affect them.

Hello Doug,
Okay, I'm sorry to say that this one of those situations when you'll need to tell your users what problems that they are creating and educate them, have you got any network policies in place? sorry to say that the PIX and I don't think even a router can help you out if your users are copying files from directory to directory unless of course you place a router between the two networks/servers and stop the traffic from propergating from one network to the other.
