How to manage the installation of hundreds of HIPS? What other items do i need to manage the hosts? Also what do I need to monitor the events on the hosts?

One appliance can cover up to 1,000 endpoints and 32 VLANs. That's about a gigabit of traffic.

Hope you are taking about CSA agents?.If yes, CSA MC needs to be installed in VMS server,Nothing has to be monitored in the host ( ie in desktop, though you might get pop 'ups),you can control in CSA MC itself.

Hi .. the latest version of CSAMC 5.1 does not rquire instalaltion of VMS. It is a standalone server and provides the same functionality as the previous ones with some extra features. For deploying teh agensts you can use AD group policy.
