If you look at documentation on AnyConnect VPN here: AnyConnect VPN Client Connections at page 2 under Licensing Requirements for AnyConnect, it states that "VPN Licenses require an AnyConnectPlus or Apex license, available separately.See the following maximum values when you purchase an AnyConnect license. The maximum combined VPN sessions of all types cannot exceed the maximum sessions shown in this table."

The key is were it says that the maximum combined VPN sessions of all types cannot exceed the maximum sessions shown on that table. So a 5515 will be able to handle 250 concurrent connections maximum.

Hope that makes sense.

Unless I am missing something you can have up to 250 IKE connections.
Obviously this has to consider the total VPN IPSEC encryption throughput along with other firewall data sheet numbers if the case.

Hi :)

250 is not maximum sessions.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/security/asa-5515-x-adaptive-security-appliance/model.html

More Specifications >
・IPSec VPN Peers: 250
・Concurrent connections: 250000

The following is # show ver output.

---
Licensed features for this platform:
Maximum Physical Interfaces : Unlimited perpetual
(snip)
Other VPN Peers : 250 perpetual
Total VPN Peers : 250 perpetual <---
Shared License : Disabled perpetual

Hi

thanks for reply.

so basically users are accessing our VMs from outside network through VPN with different credentials.

So at the max, How many users can connect at a time?

thanks

vijesh

What does VPN mean?
Even if it means SSL-VPN(AnyConnect), in both cases the maximum number of users 250.

However, If you actually connect 250 users, performance may be degrade.
Also, other factors need to be considered.
(e.g. Bandwidth, Throuput, License, Balance with other functions etc)
