MC IDS, Security Monitor shows red x, loading java

Management Console for IDS 1.2---> Monitor, Events, shows a red x, the bottom of Internet Explorer reports "loading java applet..." but nothing happens

what java you are running? are they more then one JRE? if so then remove them. have you tried using some other pc and see if that works.

I have also seen this symptom soon after the server has been reloaded. If the DB is large then it usually takes just a few minutes before you are able to access the event viewer from SecMon. i usually just try again.
