Monitor f/w connections

Hello,

What is the best way to monitor historical stats on the # of conenctions on a ASA??

I have Solarwinds setup but I am not seeing any usuable data (screenshot). Some other users seem to have had success using Solarwinds for this purpose. Is there anything I have to enable on theASA to allow tracking of connections? Any other software that works well?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sudip,

Infact, i a lso added recentlyand attached is what I see from Solarwinds. If you roll over to a 'bar', it tells number of current conn. For now, I enabled it for one ASA.

Thx

Hi Sudip,

I will let experts answer on your main query, but for connection status via solarwinds the OID needs to be added. It works fine for me. Attached is Cisco MIB that you need to add Solarwinds using 'Universal Device Poller' and assign the OID to your ASA. Make sure you select to 'keep historical data' (edit OID--> Advance options).

Thanks for the info MS.

I found UnDP last week and added it to solarwainds (and the ASA's) and made sure it tracked histrorical data. But i still do not have any data on the # of connections. This is the same result across 3 different firewalls i have in my environment.
