Odd Pix issue

2 Pix 525 stateful failover

2 CAT 6509 L3 MFCs core switches

1 Pix plugged into 1 switch and vice versa

Taking Windows 2000 and 2003 servers and placing them behind the firewall. Servers are going from VLAN 201 to VLAN 216

I place the server behind the firewall, The servers and the firewall are plugged into the core switches, the server can ping out and can ping everything within its own subnet. Example: Server ip is 10.2.2.10/22 NATs to 1.2.2.10/22. Server can ping 1.2.2.15/22 or 1.2.2.18/22 but can not ping the routing gateway of 1.2.2.1/22. It takes until the next day for everything to finally clear up and work.

From the sound of it, you could be running into an ARP resolution issue. Try to clear the ARP table and manually and see if things work better.
