Password recovery in ASA 5505

hello guys,

good morning !!

i was trying to do password recovery in asa 5505. but i don't have image in my disk and i don't have tftp server even and even i tried to push reset button behind the firewall but it doesn't work.so you guys have any other option which can help me out to do recovery of password ?

Hi Maulik,

Since it is an ASA 5505 we have no option but to have a TFTP server so that we can boot the ASA with the image.

Hi Aditya,

thanks for your response. i tried to boot from tftp but when i do copy from tftp to flash it gives me error like %Error reading tftp://172.31.1.61/asa913-k8.bin (Unspecified Error).

172.31.1.61= remote host 

asa eth0/0=172.31.1.62

both are in same network !!

so how could i get copy to flash from tftp ?

Hi Maulik,

Are you able to ping the TFTP server from the ASA rommon mode ?

Is Windows Firewall turned off on the TFTP server ?

Also did you try any other image ?

hello,

yes i'm able to ping and firewall is turned off and i don't have any other image !!

it shows me 

WARNING: TFTP download incomplete!

%Error reading tftp://172.31.1.61/asa913-k8.bin (Unspecified Error)

Hi Maulik,

This seems to be an issue with the TFTP server.

Try using some other TFTP server. By the way which TFTP server are we using ?

This model does not have a compact flash option as well (disk1:) or else we could have tried with that.

hello aditya,

i had  problem  with the tftp server. i used 4 different tftp server one by one. finally solarwind tftp gave me company.
