Hi,
Can a Pix 501 together with a VLAN capable switch be used to route internet traffic to and from the VLANs?
Hardware: I have a Pix 501 (OS 6.3), and a Linksys SRW2016 switch on which I've created a couple of VLANs.
So, is it possible?
Thank you,
Rune

The 501 only has 2 interfaces. 1 outside and 1 inside (4 switch ports). It does not support logical interfaces (Vlan trunking) so your switch would have to do the routing for the VLans.
Hope this helps!

Chad,
Yup, it clarifies what my pix can do. Unfortunately it is not the answer I wanted, as my switch is only a layer2 type switch. :-(
Thanks anyway,
Rune
