I have recently installed a PIX 501 at my company. The pix is active and working perfectly for about ten miniutes. After that all communicationon to the internet is stopped. When I console into the PIX I can ping the router and the rest of the net, but nothing on the inside. When I reboot the PIX everything works again, for ten miniutes.. PLS help

Post your config, but just out of curiosity... Are you sending your router into a switch that is also connected to your firewall? If so, do you have the duplexes hard coded? Also, it sounds like maybe you don't have many public ip addresses. Since this is the case, are you using PAT? If not, you need to be.

There was a similar post about one month back or more. It was resolved by reloading the pix operating code.

I would try that along with insuring that all active pix interfaces are not configured to do auto-detect and the switch ports that they plug into do not do that either. I have seen issues where auto-detect can cause performance slowdowns (but not stop the pix from operating entirely). But I would as a general practice hard-code the speed and the duplex settings on all switch ports and gateway/host/firewall interfaces.

Try reloading the pix code and let us know if that fixes your problem.
