PIX 501 Setup problem.

Hello Everyone!

This is my first topic on this forum, I´m also a novice when it comes to Firewalls. I´m trying to setup a PIX 501 in the office using the DHCP capabilities of the PIX 501. Without the PIX the network works fine. Several computers connected to a switch. The switch is also connected to a router outwards toward the internet. What I´ve tried to do is placing the PIX between the the switch and my computer just for test before I try the real thing but, I can´t get outside the PIX. I have only one rule set and that is that any:insade can get to any:outside using TCP. I´ve used the PDM startup wizard to setup everything.

Outside IP for the PIX is 10.34.1.122. That is the same IP that my computer had before, and yes I can ping it from another company computer.

Inside IP I use DHCP.

Anyone got any idea?

Do you have a translation rule set up for your inside addresses? If you turn on logging and try to access something, do you see a "no translation group..." message?

Typically you'll set up a port transaltion to the outside address of the firewall for generic outbound access.
