PIX 506E configuration/setup?

Hello everyone---

I am just starting at a company that has a PIX 506E box. I have never used a Cisco PIX box before. I am trying to connect to it to see what the configuration is. However, the instructions say to go to https://192.168.1.1/startup.html but our subnet is 192.168.168.xxx. I have connected a laptop directly to the "console" port on the PIX, but no luck.

Apologies in advance, for my lack of understanding in using the PIX. My prior experience with VPN is with Windows Server and with firewalls is with OpenBSD boxes.

Hi ..

The document you are referring applies to the firewall "out of the box" .. the one you have sounds like it has already been configured correct ..? the only option if you don't know IP addressing is by using the console port. You might also need to "crack" the passwords if you don't know it ..please check the below links
