Hi All,
As you know the Cisco PIX 515 3DES License is free as described below from the link https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/Licensing/jsp/formGenerator/Pix3DesMsgDisplay.jsp
To obtain a FREE PIX Firewall 3DES/AES encryption activation key, all customers must obtain a Cisco.com user ID, and complete a one-time, on-line agreement form for the use of strong encryption.
To obtain a Cisco.com user ID, click the REGISTER link at the top of this page or click here: REGISTER
Once you have obtained your Cisco.com user ID, log on to www.cisco.com/go/license where you will see the link for the FREE PIX Firewall 3DES/AES activation key. Clicking the FREE PIX Firewall 3DES/AES link will allow you to complete the one-time, on-line agreement for the use of strong encryption, as well as obtain your FREE PIX Firewall 3DES/AES activation key. You will not need to complete this form for any future FREE PIX Firewall 3DES/AES activation keys.
Please note: The Technical Assistance Center (TAC) will not be able to provide the FREE PIX Firewall 3DES/AES activation key to customers, and will re-direct all customers to the process described above. This process is required to meet Federal regulations surrounding the use of strong encryption.
Thank you in advance for your patience and acceptance of this process.
Does Anyone know the procedure to remove the 3des license (activation-key) from the appliance????
Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a "sh ver" from before get the activatio key from there and key it in
conf t
activation-key
This should remove and restore your old activation key with old license.
