PIX 515-E Logical+Physical interface support

How many interfaces in total supported 515E including logical(VLANs by 802.1q) and physical? on CCO it is 8 Logical and 6 Physical. Effectively I should get 13 Interfaces (1 Physical Interface needed for trunk), right? But it says maximum 10...is it true or mistakenly mentioned.

Thanx

With a 515E and an Unrestricted license, you can have:

- maximum of 6 physical interfaces

- maximum of 8 logical interfaces

- overall maximum of 10 total interfaces

What this means is in total, the PIX can have a maximum of 10 interfaces configured, but NO MORE than 6 physical or 8 logical within that 10.

In short, you can't have both the maximumm number of physical and logical interfaces in the PIX at the same time. If you have 6 physical interfaces, then you can only have a maximum of 4 logical interfaces (equal to 10 in total). If you have 8 logical interfaces, then you can only have a maximum of 2 physical interfaces (equal to 10 in total)

Thanks for the quick answer.:-)
