What is the most memory I can add to this device in its current restricted bundle config? Currently has 64mb in one slot.

hmmm... while waiting for this reply I went ahead and added an addl 128mb dimm of PC100 sdram for a total of 192mb, and it's working. Show memory indicates the correct amount as does ASDM 6.03. Is this OK? ASDM actually shows the current used mem as 109mb. When the system only had 64mb, it showed 42mb used? Does the PIX throttle memory based on what's avail?

Shane, I have not face yet this scenario in adding additional memory to PIX than the actual posted by specifications, perhaps someone in forum may comment on overall Fw code functionality in this type of scenario. Personally I tend to go by the book when in comes to hardware and firewalls simply to avoid risks of problems in network production, if it was in the case of personal firewall labs scenario sure, I would go ahead and install memory but I would fully test fw functionality.

This PIX is in a lab environment -
Does the PIX throttle resources based on available memory?
By limiting the memory and runing OS version 8.0.3 and ASDM 6.03, are we hindering performance or functionality?
