PIX 515E Reset?

Hi,

My company just acquired another company and with that I got a Pix 515E that I would like to use to replace my Symantec firewall. While trying to setup I found there was already alot of custom settings put in place by the other companies IT person and I would liek to start from scratch on it to give me a better chance of setting it up how I want. Is there a way to reset to factory defaults? If Yes how and also what are the default passwords as I have no documentation on this thing at all.

first make sure to keep a backup of the configs so that you can always refer it back to it. to do so you just copy paste the configs in a notepad.

to clear the configs, you can issue the command

"clear config all"

OR

"wr erase" and then reload.

there is no default password. Make sure that you login to the pix using console while issuing the above commands
