Hi,
Can anybody tell me that does PIX 535 has a Gigabit interface which supports UTP. If no then for connectivity of PIX with any device on Gigbit GBICs are used or SFP.
Thanks.

Hi
The pix 535 does not support copper gigabit connections, they are all multimode fibre.
You would need to use GBIC SC connectors on the Pix 535 end.

Hi,
Did u mean that GBIC modules need to be used at PIX End or on the switch to which pix is going to connect.

Hi
It depends on what type of connectors you have on the switch.
On the pix it has to be GBIC SC connector.
On the switch it can be a GBIC SC or an LC (SFP) connector. It's up to you.

Hi,
On the switch side it should be SFP (GLC-SX-MM) or GBIC (WS-5484). Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

Hi Rahim
it entirely depends on what connectors you have on the switch side. So
if you have GBIC connections on the switch then you need SC GBIC connectors (ws-5484) for your switch, the same on the pix and an SC -> SC mulitmode fibre cable.
If you have SFP connections on your switch then you need SFP connectors for your switch, SC GBIC connectors on your pix and a multimode SC -> LC fibre cable.
If you have both types of connection on your switch then you choose as long as the pix end is always SC.
