Could someone explain me how can I configure interfaces on PIX firewalls. I mean number of interfaces. For example PIX 525...I populate this device with one 4 Eth. card plus 2 interfaces on board. And I see with command sh ver that max.physical inerfaces is 6 and max.interfaces 12.
So does it mean that I can populate PIX max.with 12 physical interfaces or configure PIX with VLANS on interface but sum must be 12.
many thanks in advance

that means 6 physical interfaces, and 6 vlan interfaces for 12 total.
if you upgrade the license on the 525 to the unrestricted, I believe you can go up to 8 (might be 10?) physical intefaces, and more vlan ints as well

This is more or less right...I'll just add a few more details.
I believe the original post is referring to an Restricted 525 which has a limitation of 8 total interfaces (logical and physical). Of these 8 interfaces, you can use any combination of logical or physical interfaces with the following restrictions:
- max of 6 physical interfaces
- max of 6 logical interfaces
Here is a link that talks about this a little more:

Let me know if you guys have any questions.
