if i have a pc at home infected by a virus/worm, and i am accessing my office network through cisco remote vpn terminating on an ASA5540, can i infect my office PCs ?
It would depend on whether your office is filtering inbound VPN traffic. If the ASA is configured with the 'sysopt connection permit-vpn' statement which exempts all VPN traffic from interface ACL checks, then yes it is very possible.
