The IDSM-2 configuration is stored and managed separately from the switch configuration.
The IOS configuration has separate running and saved configurations. Using the "wr mem" on the IOS switch causes the running configuration to be saved.
The IDSM-2 configuration, on the other hand, does NOT have separate running and saved configurations. When a configuration change is made then the single configuration is changed. You can consider it as both the running and saved configuration being modified at the same time.
