Hi All,

Take a look at the sh ver below from a PIX515, specifically the max interfaces:

Cisco PIX Firewall Version 6.2(2)

Compiled on Fri 07-Jun-02 17:49 by morlee

(host name removed) up 52 days 4 hours

Hardware: PIX-515, 64 MB RAM, CPU Pentium 200 MHz

Flash i28F640J5 @ 0x300, 16MB

BIOS Flash AT29C257 @ 0xfffd8000, 32KB

0: ethernet0: address is 0050.54ff.ec72, irq 11

1: ethernet1: address is 0050.54ff.ec73, irq 10

2: ethernet2: address is 0002.b324.422d, irq 7

Licensed Features:

Failover: Enabled

VPN-DES: Disabled

VPN-3DES: Disabled

Maximum Interfaces: 6

Cut-through Proxy: Enabled

Guards: Enabled

URL-filtering: Enabled

Inside Hosts: Unlimited

Throughput: Unlimited

IKE peers: Unlimited

Does the maximum interfaces line suggest that the PIX is licensed to use ALL 6? I would say yes as the Inside Hosts line is unlimited. The output from a PIX running 6.3(3) without the appropriate license shows as follows and is clearer on interface restrictions:

Maximum Physical Interfaces: 3

Maximum Interfaces: 5

Just need a double check please troops.

Many Thanks

Ali
