Hi,
Our monitoring system stopped reaching our ASA firewall over snmp, after a software upgrade to 9.4(3)12
I've checked the configuration and it seems ok.
What should I look for? How can I restart the snmp service on the firewall?
Regards,
Filipe

"snmp-server enable" is used to enable the SNMP server and agent on the ASA. Issue a "no snmp-server enable" to disable the snmp. You can turn it back on by adding the "snmp-server enable" command again.

Hi Rahul,
Thank you for your input. I have done that though, and it didn't work.

Can you provide some more details on what the issue is? Is your management tool unable to poll your ASA after an upgrade? Could you check if all the config is the same before and after the upgrade? You may have to apply a packet capture to see if there is something broken in your communication. Bug search indicated no open SNMP bugs in 9.4(3).

Hi,
I found the problem. After the upgrade the another parameter was added to the "snmp-server user" configuration. Now it has an engineID and a value assigned to it. This wasn't on the configuration on the previous software version. Anyway, the engineID was wrong and I corrected it and now it's working fine.
Thanks for your help guys.
