SNMP stats for FWSM 3.2/4.1

Hi,

We're about to upgrade our FWSM from software version 2.3 to 3.2, and probably straight to 4.1 to support a future project to implement VSS.  We currently use Statseeker (2.8 and 3.3) to monitor all devices but the only information it seems to be able to collect from the FWSM v2.3 is interface utilisation.  As part of a Data Centre redesign we want to determine precisely how much load the FWSM is under on a daily basis and we're upgrading to a later software version on the understanding that there's more available management data via SNMP.

Can anyone confirm that a reasonably standard SNMP monitoring tool like Statseeker will be able to pick up CPU/mem statistics from the FWSM when it's (the FWSM) upgraded to v3.2/4.1?  Currently Statseeker does pick up CPU and memory information from Catalyst switches automatically.

Kind regards,

Ben Johnson

Yes, the FWSM will support most known MIBs.

ftp://ftp-sj.cisco.com/pub/mibs/supportlists/fwsm/fwsm-supportlist.html will give you all the supported FWSM mibs.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/fwsm/fwsm40/configuration/guide/monitr_f.html#wp1104519

will also give you the supported MIBS.

I hope it helps.
